A31/254 Václav Špála (1885 – 1946) Landscape near Vltava, 1921. Oil on canvas, 59,5 x 48 cm, bottom left corner signed „VŠ 21“. Framed, condition A (restored). Piece made after the third exhibition of already known group „Tvrdošíjný“ (Obstinate). At this point Špála started his landscape paintings and returned to the classical view of paintings without completely giving up his cubistic schemes visible here in swift, energic paint brushes and colored palete.
