TUREEN WITH ALLEGORY OF FRANCE
France, Lorraine, Niderviller workshop,
1770-1800 (period of Adam-Philippe de Custine)
Big tureen with oval base and higher foot, cover decorated with figurative allegory depicting personification of France on clouds with attributes of various arts, touching a globe and bearing green wreath of victory, accompanied by a putti bearing a sceptre. Lower part decorated with reliefs of lion heads, male profile and emblematic motif. Faience, color-painted on white glaze, flesh tones, gilded details, bright floral motifs.
Height 40 cm, length 42 cm.
Blue mark „CC“ with crown, impressed model No. „35“.
