Mixed media - ink and pencil on paper, 205x120 mm (mount aperture; total dimensions 315x245 mm), marked lower left in pencil "Paříž", signed and dated lower right in pencil "Č 1910". With an expert opinion by PhDr. Pavla Pečínková, CSc. From the expert opinion by PhDr. Pavla Pečínková, CSc: „[...] This work comes from the estate of Mojmír Helcelet, a pharmacist, bibliophile and art collector from Brno... Helcelet was the first private collector interested in the work of Josef Čapek ... this piece of art comes from Čapek`s stay in Paris in 1910-11 and represents an interesting testimony of his artistic origins ... In Čapek`s inheritance, several similar pieces have been found ... The date corresponds with the condition of the drawing and paper. The signature is authentic ... Čapek`s correspondence contains also a letter to M. Helcelet dated 26 February 1918, which clearly relates to this work ... `.
