MADONNA OF MARIAZELL

Small folk wooden carving is a simple copy of the votive statue of the seated Virgin Mary of Mariazell. The seated Madonna holds the baby Jesus, and both are depicted holding fruit. High relief, designed for a frontal view, with a flat back featuring an almost unreadable inscription. on a low plinth. Wood, without polychromy, h. 16 cm. Condition C.
