Stories in this auction
Still life as a response to the challenge of the times.
The development of fine art in the period between 1925 - 1935 sought expression and a palette that would respond to the revolutionary impulses of the previous decade. In this environment, remarkable works were created in Bohemia combining the most modern trends in European painting with the originality of the domestic environment. These include the works offered by A. Diviš, J. Slavíček or Fr. Vobecký.
Five pearls
In the group of paintings of the 78th auction, an exceptional set of five came together and one of them deserves a somewhat more detailed approach. It points to a remarkable story of a journey. A journey that a gifted student and young painter embarked on, but from which an exceptional artist worthy of international renown has returned. I would like to share this story with you.
