WEDDING COLUMN CLOCK

Classic black lacquered portal clock featuring two alabaster columns with gilt wooden bases and capitals. Above the clock face, centered between the cornices, is a cylindrical case resembling ephemeral pavilion architecture, displaying wedding portraits of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria (Sissi). The front of the pedestal’s central section holds a small engraving, under glass, depicting the paddle steamer Emperor Franz Joseph, which brought the young bride and her entourage from Passau to Vienna. The lower section includes a music box. 70x38x13 cm.

Partially missing alabaster elements on the upper cornice, music box in need of cleaning, original condition.
