FOUR PLATES - COPIES OF HABAN FAIENCE

20th century
Four faience plates with wide rims, white-glazed, imitating Haban products. In three cases, these are copies of specific historical pieces from the collections of the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest. Two plates feature a painting of stylized floral motifs in high-temperature colors, with one displaying baker symbols and initials along with a divided year "16 S / V 95" in a green wreath on the upper edge; the third plate shows the name "SAMUEL NEUMAN" and the year "1701" in a green wreath on the upper edge, with the rest of the rim filled with cobalt floral ornaments. The fourth plate features a green wreath in the center with the year "1698," and architectural and bird motifs in monochrome cobalt painting on the rim. Three pieces with mountings for hanging. Ø 31,8 cm, 31,5 cm (2 x), 33,5 cm Brown printed mark "COPIE" and brush initials; one plate with impressed mark of a heart. Condition A.
