THE LAST SUPPER GOBLET
Northern Bohemia, 2nd quarter of the 19th century
A bell-shaped goblet of colourless cut glass, faceted into a heptagon in the lower part, with a star-shaped foot. Oval medallions with a diminishing optical effect around the circumference, separated by areas of very fine stone cutting; some smaller areas painted with yellow / old-rose stain, accented with green lines along the edges. The front features a matt-engraved Last Supper scene. It follows the popular motif produced in the workshop of Anton Simm (1799–1873) in Jablonec nad Nisou.
