Firm leather binding with gilt decoration including spine. Front pastedown with the label "Bound by C. Kalthoeber, London". Christian Samuel Kalthoeber (1752-1817), a leading German bookbinder in exile who, in the late Georgian and Regency periods, dominated the English luxury book trade. Binding slightly damaged, paper lightly foxed.
