With an expert opinion by PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová. „[...] In the presented painting, Radimský convincingly captured the rippling surface of the Elbe river with aquatic plants and the bank covered by trees. As in France, he painted exclusively in the open air. He created his own characteristic technique, his own way of painting with wide brush stokes and applying the paint in pasty stains. He was able to imprint different moods to his bright colored landscapes, while all of them are painted with a master hand, which perfectly masters the craft and the presentation of a spiritual feelings and moods. The presented painting Landscape with a River is one of the beautiful and typical works of Václav Radimský. It was and still is a sought-after collector`s item."
