Christoph Herdesianus (1523-1585): Refutatio Dogmatis de Fictitia Carnis Christi omni Praesentia. 246 numbered pages, in Latin. Published by Johann Maier in Heidelberg in 1576. A Renaissance Reformation polemic against the Lutheran conception of the ubiquity of the human body of Jesus Christ.
Theodore Beza (1519-1605): Quaestionum et responsionum christianarum pars altera, quae est de Sacramentis. 206 numbered pages, in Latin. Published in Geneva in 1576. A theological work by the reformer and successor to John Calvin in Geneva, dealing with the sacraments.
Format 16°, 15.2x9.6 cm. All three works bound together in a solid half-leather binding, spine with 3 raised bands, red edges. The binding is damaged by woodworm and mould, the book block complete and in exceptionally good condition.
These Latin-language Reformation theological works from the 1570s focus on the question of the sacraments, in particular the Eucharist (the Lord`s Supper) and the associated Christological questions.
