Sturdy half-leather binding, spine with coloured labels, gilt lettering and decoration. Published by Rudolf August Wilhelm Ahl in Coburg in 1780. Einleitung zur sichern Erziehung und zweckmäßigen Anpflanzung der einheimischen und fremden Holzarten, welche in Deutschland und unter ähnlichen Klima im Freien fortkommen. By F. A. L. von Burgsdorf. Revised and enlarged edition. Two parts. With one copperplate. Format 8°, 19.2x11.4 cm. 48 (advertisement of June 1786), 212 and 248 numbered pp., in German. Title page printed in black, bound on the left-hand side, facing the first page of text. At the end of the first part a folding copper-engraved plate is tipped in. Sturdy pasteboard binding (shared by both parts) covered in marbled paper, spine with a manuscript paper label and 2 raised bands. Published in Berlin at the author`s own expense in 1795. Both books are overall in good condition, with slightly rubbed bindings and frayed corners; the second book shows more signs of use, chiefly bumped corners.
