HUNTING KNIFE

Austria-Hungary, around1900
German-type knife for hunting uniform. Straight blade, single-edged with sharp tip, unmarked. Ivory grip with three bronze rivets. Bronze undecorated clamshell guard. Wooden scabbard covered with black leather with bronze fittings. Locket with a hole for inserting a small knife (the knife is missing). Sheath with belt made of green leather with silver and bronze decoration. Marked with Emperor’s initials „F.J.I“. Length of blade 31 cm. Total length 51 cm. Condition C.
Loose original gilding. One rivet’s head missing. Blade with spots of corrosion.
