SABRE

Germany, Bavaria, around 1800
Slightly curved single-edged blade with wide fuller, decorated with etched and engraved floral motifs, motifs of weapons and initial "M" under Bavarian crown (probably Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria). Engraved inscription "Solingen". Steel guard and fittings of grip, nickeled. Wooden grip covered with leather and copper wire. Scabbard of polished iron sheet with two hooks for hanging. Blade length 84 cm. Total length 105 cm. Condition B-D. Broken scabbard.
