Illustration for the second edition of Ezop`s Fables for London Publisher John Ogilby, entitled "`Æsopic`s: Or A Second Collection of Fables, Paraphras`d in Verse: Adorn`d with Sculpture, and Illustrated with Annotations". Work on fables comes from Hollar`s second English period. Hollar created 58 new etchings for this second edition. Humor and irony, combined with perfect technique, are probably the best examples of the Hollar`s illustration mastership. Framed, glazed.
