SEWENTEEN DRAWINGS BY MAX HAUSHOFER, A STUDY BY ANTONÍN MÁNES AND A DRAWING BY AN UNKNOWN ARTIST

Twelve single-sided and five two-sided drawings by Max Haushofer from Italy. Pencil on paper (in one case pencil and color pastel on paper), various sizes, 1830`s. Some marked and dated: "Villa Pomfili, Oct 33", "Genzano, Oct 1938", "Campagna di Roma, 8. Oct 38", "Nel Giardino St. Giovani e Paolo" etc., some stamped "Nachlass Max Haushofer 1811-66". All drawings (except one) mounted. Restitutions from The National Gallery (Waldes`s Picture Gallery, stamped), stamped "NGP" with inventory numbers. Study of Trees by Antonín Mánes. Drawing on paper, 440x290 mm, inscription in ink and stamp "NGP" on the reverse. Brown spots. Mounted. Head of an Old Man. Pastel on paper, 280x220 mm, dedication lower left, stamp "NGP" on the reverse. Right edge slightly torn away from the image.
