PIETA OF MARIA TAFERL

Folk wood carving of votive sculpture from pilgrimage site Maria Taferl. Sitting crowned Madonna with the body of Christ on her lap, rays behind her back, on a low plinth. Wood, polychromy, gilding, silvering, h. 28,5 cm. Condition C. Traces of wood-worm, some rays and sword in Madonna`s heart are missing, partially loose polychromy. Equipped with NPÚ certificate (National Heritage Board) for permanent export, NPÚ Brno 2020.
