A series of nine drawings (intaglio reproductions) from 1944 with the same-named introductory poem by Jindřich Heisler. Book format 2°, 30.5x38.5 cm. Loose sheets in a paper cover and and hardcover binding boards covered with cloth. Published by František Borový in Prague in November 1946 in 1000 copies. Printed by V. Neubert and sons, Prague. 1st edition. In reality, only a few hundred copies were likely printed. The collection was very important to the author, after emigrating to Paris in 1947, she immediately reissued it - for the last time - in an edition of 300 copies. The theme of anxiety, peril, and ruin is reflected in the entire group of drawing cycles created by Toyen during the occupation. The title of this cycle echoes a call from the Poesie collection by Isidore Ducasse de Lautréamont, a poet greatly admired by the Prague surrealists. Published in: Karel Srp, Toyen.
