SAINT JOHN OF NEPOMUK

Bavaria, 2nd half of the 18th century
The small wood carving depicts the most famous Czech saint and patron, St. John of Nepomuk, dressed in canonical robe with a biretta on his head, standing in contrapposto with a crucifix in his arms on a low pedestal. Wood, polychrome, bronzing; h. 16 cm. Condition B. Provenance: private collection, Bavaria.
