Bust of a child with a turned head made of rose wax, facial features colored, inlaid (glass) eyes, hair made of wool, necklace of freshwater pearls, h. 9 cm.
Devotional sculpture, popular mostly in southern Germany and Austria. The head is typically made of wax, while the rest of the body, made of stuffed fabric, is wrapped in ribbons resembling a baby swaddle.
