OIL LAMP WITH CLOCK (ÖLLAMPENUHR)

Pewter oil lamp with a slender stem on a wide bowl-shaped base, with a handle, topped with a pear-shaped reservoir blown from colorless glass, set in a screw-on assembly with a clamp adorned with Roman numerals I-XII on both sides. The oil, which gradually decreases as the lamp burns, indicates the burning time, and thus, the time. The hinged lid of the lamp is marked with a pewter mark (unknown), h. 33,5 cm.
