FOUR GLASSES

Bohemia, 19th century
Two cylindrical cups of colorless cut glass, decorated with engravings representing the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity. One piece features the initials "M:E." within a floral wreath, while the other includes a German inscription: "Den Menschen wird nie sein / Werth geraubt wen er an / Diese Dreÿ Worte glaubt" ("The worth of a person is never lost who believes in these three words"). Bell-shaped cup of colorless glass, adorned with faceted cuts and a fine engraved heraldic motif within a medallion. Slightly conical and subtly curved bowl on a low stem and square foot, featuring matte-cut floral borders and the initial "K." H. 11 - 14 cm. Unmarked.
