GLASS WITH ROSES

Conical Cup of the "Ranftbecher" type made of colorless glass, cut, with vertical wedge-shaped cuts on a low circular base, decorated under the rim with a translucent painting of pink flowers between yellow-bordered bands and gilding. Around the rim, there is a German inscription: "Ehret die Frauen, Sie flechten und weben uns Rosen ins irdische Leben," from the poem Würde der Frauen by Friedrich Schiller. H. 11 cm. Marked later above the foot: "Kothgasser. 1820.". Condition B. Minor chips on the rim and on foot.
