Coloured vintage gelatin silver print. 10,8x15,7 cm (24,2x28 cm).Signed in ink lower right "Toyen". The photograph was supposedly made in the bathroom of a Toyen apartment in late 1944. At this time, Jindřich Heisler was hiding as a half-Jew from the Gestapo. If discovered, not only Heisler would face immediate execution, but also Toyen, who was hiding him. This is also why only Toyen is signed on the photograph, while Heisler's signature is missing. Heisler's photographs from this cycle are in the collections of the Museum of Fine Art Huston, the Centre Pompidou. mounted, framed, glazed.
