CHINAMAN (INCENSE BURNER)

A grotesque figure of a singing bald Chinaman seated on a low stool, hands clasped on his knee. White porcelain, brightly painted on the glaze, flesh tones, gilded. The figurine is hollow, with an open mouth and an opening at the top of the head. Compare with Prague model: Ant. Novotný, Pražský porcelán (ze sbírek Muzea hl. města Prahy), Prague 1949, pl. 8, inv. no. 20.326. H. 12 cm. Embossed mark "F & R" and no. "79". Condition B. Missing stopper on the head, otherwise only minor signs of wear.
