ANGEL

Central Europe, 2nd half of the 19th - 20th century
Fully three-dimensional carving of a flying angel with childlike proportions in a frontal position, draped in a loincloth and a drapery over the left shoulder, arms outstretched, the right hand raised upwards. Linden wood, polychromy imitating natural flesh tones, gilding, height 62 cm, width 50 cm, depth approx. 18 cm. Historicizing carving work with rustic features, inspired by Baroque patterns. Condition C. Cracks (on the left side, at the arm joints), damaged gilding. Export certificate for a cultural property issued by the National Heritage Institute, Brno, 2024.
