Book format 12°, 15.3 × 11.5 cm, 13 numbered pp., then unpaginated, in Czech. Hard binding. Title page printed in black. On the title page the author’s signature. The publication contains 96 full-page woodcut illustrations. Published by the printing house of F. Obzina in Vyškov for Orbis, Prague, in November 1929. 10 copies numbered and signed on genuine Japan, 50 numbered on Ullersdorf paper, and a popular edition.
Graphic novel by Helena Bochořáková-Dittrichová, who is regarded as the first lady of this literary genre. The National Museum of Women in the Arts in New York described her work as the first graphic novel created by a woman.
Slight fraying of the cover at the top of the spine, otherwise in excellent condition.
