Includes a photographic portrait of A. Breton. Published by Robert Marin in Paris in June 1948 in the Collection l’Age d’Or series directed by Henri Parisot, in an edition of 2250 copies. This copy is a deluxe edition on Vélin d’Arches handmade paper, numbered 164 out of a total of 250. On the title page a handwritten dedication by A. Breton to his friend Edmond Bomsel, Paris 1957; also likely by the same hand a correction on the last page of the text. Cover slightly creased and soiled, page edges yellowed, lower right corner creased, title page slightly stained, otherwise good condition.
