Verso inscribed in pencil with the author’s name, address, and the title of the photograph in Czech and German: "JAN SVOBODA, NA ZÁMYŠLI 2 PRAHA 5, POZDĚ V NOCI 1985, SPÄT IN DER NACHT, 1985".
