Oil on canvas, 64x 81 cm (74x92,5 cm), signed lower right "Boh. Dvorský". Framed. A rare subject in the work of this outstanding Moravian colourist and lover of the Haná landscape. The gentle palette underscores the simple warmth and tenderness of a beloved domestic corner. Although in the truest sense a still life by subject, the painting does not seek to quieten or soothe the viewer. It is, in Dvorský’s characteristic manner, a full chord of pure colour tones delivered with exceptional energy and dynamism of brushwork. Once again we encounter the distinctive creative boldness and vigour so typical of this “Haná Cézanne”. Condition B.
