PAINTED PLATE

Zittau Region, 1718
Deep faience plate with a wide rim and bowl-shaped centre, decorated on a light green crackled glaze with stylised floral motifs painted in high-fire colours (manganese line drawing coloured in pea green), the cavetto further inscribed with the date “1718”. Reverse unglazed, thus a so-called Halbfayence. Fitted with a wire mount for hanging. Ø 30,3 cm. Glued.
