PAINTED JUG

Bulbous jug on a low foot, with a strap handle and a narrow neck; faience, white-glazed and brightly painted in muffle colours with an agricultural motif to the front and two bouquets to the sides, the neck and foot rimmed with a yellow line, the handle shaded in purple. H. 26 cm. Impressed mark “UT.”, brush-painted “1942. B. K.” and, beneath the handle, “1942 UT.”. Condition restored. Restored chip to the neck, with two further small chips in the same area.
