Porcelain figure of a naturalistically modelled walking mammoth with raised trunk, on a low rectangular base imitating natural terrain, painted underglaze in natural brown and green tones. H. 27 cm, l. 42 cm. Green printed underglaze mark "Rosenthal Kunst-Abtheilung SELB-BAVARIA", overglaze brush inscription “Eigenthum von Ph. Rosenthal.”, impressed model no. “K.338.”; to the side of the base impressed “N” and “MAMMUT”. Condition restored. Restored tusk.
