Svatopluk Kasalý (1944-2021)
Brass plated with rhodium, set with cut glass, signed on the inner side “Sv. Kasalý.” Accompanied by an author’s certificate from 2010 confirming the authenticity and uniqueness of the piece, and housed in the original artist’s case.
Svatopluk Kasalý: Czech jewellery designer of international renown. He graduated in 1965 from the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Železný Brod under Professors Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslav Novotný. His jewellery represents predominantly luxurious, original pieces created for significant occasions. His inspiration most often came from nature and the female form, and he also produced works for architectural settings. A member of the Vysočina Fine Artists’ Association, he received numerous professional awards, including from international exhibitions in Jablonec nad Nisou. His work has been shown in both solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad and is represented in many collections (Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, Moravian Gallery in Brno, Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava, Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York) as well as in publications.
