Oil on canvas, 48×40 cm (56×48 cm), unsigned. This cabinet-format painting is a later and less accomplished copy after the composition of the Holy Night / Nativity. The Virgin Mary is shown in half-length, bending over the newborn Christ Child; from the right a winged cherub’s head hovers in the air, and in the foreground the attributes of the manger are indicated. The scene is conceived as a nocturne. The painting is mounted in a stained oak frame. Framed.

Overall craquelure, a hole of approx. 1 cm in the upper right area, flaking paint lower right, stretcher pressing through the canvas..
