TWO SAINTS

Oil on metal, unsigned. I. St. John of Nepomuk, 17×12.5 cm (22×17.7 cm), 2nd quarter of the 19th century, Bohemia. The miniature depicts St. John of Nepomuk in half-length, following the iconographic model codified by Jan Brokoff. Gilded frame. Painting with craquelure. II. St. Catherine of Alexandria, 15×10 cm (19.5×15.2 cm), 2nd half of the 17th century, Moravia. The miniature depicts St. Catherine of Alexandria with the attributes of her martyrdom — the palm, the sword, and the broken wheel. Gilded frame, glazed. In the area of the cloak the paint is missing. Condition B. Certificate for the permanent export of a cultural-value object, NPÚ Prague 2025.
