CHILDREN’S GAMES IN THE PARK II – CUPID’S KISS

Oil on plywood, 32×50 cm (57×75.5 cm). Signed lower right "Fr. Lefler". Framed in a massive, richly decorated gilded frame with acanthus leaves and shell décor in the corners. The work follows the previous lot, forming an integral part of a paired composition and developing the narrative line of the first painting. While the first picture showed Cupid as an observer of children’s games, this pendant presents the climax of the scene – Cupid’s kiss. A pair of children is captured in an intimate gesture on a garden bench, accompanied by a putto. Condition A-B.
