Oil on canvas, 71×61 cm (85×75 cm), verso on the canvas the artist’s signature and date "Eichler 83-85". Framed. An example of Eichler’s mature painterly idiom, in which the artist abandons descriptive realism in favour of an inner experience of the landscape. The composition works with the motif of vertical tree trunks, rendered in soft sfumato, creating the impression of a misty haze or morning light filtering through the canopies.
