THREE FOLK JUGS

Western Slovakia, Dechtice, and Moravia, Vyškov, 19th century
A faience jug of pear shape with a strap handle, wide neck with a beak-shaped spout, on the white glaze blue and green painted floral décor, around the neck a dotted border and on the foot a linear border. Brush mark "GO" on the base (Dechtice, Juraj Odler). H. 22.5 cm. Together with: two faience jugs of pear shape with a strap handle, white-glazed, blue-painted rusticised floral décor, around the neck and foot blue and yellow lines. H. 22 and 17.5 cm. Unmarked. Condition B-C. Minor chips, abrasions, hairline cracks, craquelure in the glaze. Provenance: from the collection of PhDr. Miroslav Boček (1915–2005).
