Copper-engraved frontispiece depicting Saints John of Matha and Felix of Valois; a further 5 full-page illustrations mostly introduce individual chapters. Initials, headpieces, vignettes. Sturdy leather binding, spine with 5 raised bands and blind-tooled decoration. Printed by the heirs of Jan Karel Jeřábek in the Old Town of Prague in 1706. The book is devoted to the history, activity and mission of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity (the Trinitarians), to the founders of the order (St John of Matha and St Felix of Valois) and to the ransoming of captive Christians. Heavily damaged, both binding and book block disintegrated, though complete. On the front blank leaves and half-title, manuscript text in Kurrent script from the 19th century.
