Le triomphe de la mort. Engraved after the designs of Holbein. Format 12°, 16.7 x 10.6 cm. 30 etchings, 7.7 x 5.5 cm, with accompanying text in French. Firm leather binding with gilt decoration including spine. Front pastedown with the label "Bound by C. Kalthoeber, London". Christian Samuel Kalthoeber (1752-1817), a leading German bookbinder in exile who, in the late Georgian and Regency periods, dominated the English luxury book trade. Binding slightly damaged, paper lightly foxed.
