GOBLET WITH GILDED CARVING
Austria-Hungary (Bohemia), beginning of the 20th century
Goblet of cobalt blue glass, massive barrel-shaped bowl, externally faceted with smooth offset rim, on a thick stem with double rim and arched foot. Central gilded carving with a scene of a Hungarian nobleman stabbing a Turk, referring to one of the victories of the Hungarians, on the opposite side, the emblem of the Kingdom of Hungary.
