CARAFE

North Bohemia, probably Nový Bor, around 1800
Bell-shaped carafe with long narrowed neck, with a flattened stopper, milk glass painted with color enamels: floral garlands with bows with a central rose, tiny groups of flowes in the upper part, vertical hatching on the background, gilded neck and stopper. Compare with: Das Böhmische Glas 1700-1950, Bd. I Barock - Rokoko - Klassizismus, Passau 1995, p. 75, I.58. H. of carafe 22,5 cm. Purple brush mark "VII". Condition A-B.
