RELIQUARY

16th - 19th century
Corpus Christi, carving in red coral (l. 15 cm). Together with the inscription INRI and the skull with crossbones mounted on a guimpe mat in a wooden frame, decorated with applied beads in shape of leaves which form of the tree of life. In a glazed architectural frame made of stained wood inlaid with engraved and black painted bone and tortoiseshell, 36x46.5 cm. Neo-renaissance frame (19th century), reliquary probably from the end of the 18th century, the carving of Christ is probably much older.
