SET OF MILK GLASS

Bohemia (Harrachov Glassworks, Nový Svět v Krkonoších), c. 1780-1790 Bulbous mug made of milk glass, cylindrical throat, tiny spout, S-shaped melted handle, decorated with floral décor panted with color enamels, bouquet with dominant rose is complemented by tiny flowers, leaves and gilded borders. Bell-shaped cup on low foot, melted handle, deeper saucer, white milk glass, color enamel painting of floral motifs, gilded rims. Characteristic examples of glass production in the last third of the 18th century, trying to compete with the rising popularity of porcelain goods on European market.
