ABDUCTION OF A SABINE

Sculpture on a low oval plinth imitating natural terrain, with a support in the form of a leafy trunk, depicting a mythological scene from early Roman history. White porcelain, colorful underglaze painting. H. 22,5 cm. Blue underglaze "Schwertermarke" (Knaufzeit), engraved mod. no. "990.", Bossierernummer "111", red brush painter`s mark "26". Condition restored. Restored leaves on the tree, broken leave on the plinth. Provenance: private collection, Bavaria.
