FIGURAL SALT AND PEPPER CONTAINERS

Figural salt and pepper container in the form of two baskets on a rococo plinth, connected by a handle shaped like a seated girl with a bouquet in her hand. White porcelain, brightly painted, flesh tones, gilded details. In the original Kändler`s model for Meissen porcelain, both baskets had semi-circular handles, here each equipped with two opposite holes below the rim (1 sealed during restoration of the edge of the bowl). H. 12,5 cm. Engraved "CF", Blue underglaze apocryphal mark of the Meissen porcelain factory. Condition restored. Provenance: private collection, Bavaria.
