PERCUSSION RIFLE

Jean Siber (1812-1899) Switzerland, Lausanne, end of the 19th century
Octagonal barrel, caliber 16 mm with rifled bore (16 grooves, on the right), steel front sight and steel rear sight, marked on the rib `SIBER A LAUSANNE`, made using the method of welded Damascus steel. Percussion lock, unmarked, movable, non-functional. Full-length stock adorned with fish carving. Smooth steel fittings. Ramrod missing. Total length 128 cm, barrel length 94 cm. Condition C.
Corrosion on the surface of steel parts. Cracked stock around the fore-end and around the lock. Personal collection only.
