Book format 8°, 18.4 × 13.4 cm. 64 numbered pp., in Czech, translated by Bohuslav Reynek. Title page printed in red and black. Illustrations (linocuts) and cover (missing) by J. Čapek. Contemporary half-leather custom binding with marbled paper and black label with gilt lettering on the spine, marked with blind stamp on the rear endpaper "Knihařství Přibíková". Card slipcase. Issued from the stock of Marta Florianová in Stará Říše, Moravia, in March 1922 as vol. no. 651. Very good condition. Lit.: Arno Sáňka, České bibliofilské tisky, Brno 1923, p. 60, no. 217. Bookbinder Jana Přibíková trained under Emanuel Zárybnický in Kadaň and further refined her skills with Jiří Faltus in Žamberk and with the Sobot family in Loket. In 1983 she was awarded the title “Master of Artistic Crafts” in the field of Artistic Bookbinding. She participated in more than 60 exhibitions worldwide, receiving several prestigious awards. Her works are predominantly represented in private collections. She founded her own bookbinding studio in 1990. She has been successfully active in both the Czech and international markets not only in artistic bookbinding, but also in restoration and picture framing. She teaches modern and historical bindings as well as paper marbling.
