An intimately conceived landscape from the mid-1950s represents a typical example of the lyrical landscape expression of Karel Jílek, an artist focused on the transformations of the Czech rural landscape and its quiet atmosphere. The motif of a pond with a low horizon, strips of meadows, and a group of trees is constructed in broad colour areas emphasising spatial depth and the calm rhythm of the composition. Condition A.
